Benton High School would like to invite all incoming ninth grade students and their parents to an orientation on Thursday, March 22nd, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Students and their parents should enter the school through the Rich Herrin Gym where they will be greeted by our Freshmen Mentors and will receive a folder with registration information. All parents and students will sit in the Rich Herrin Gym bleachers for a 30 – 45 minute presentation. Topics that will be covered: attendance programs, tutoring services, school nurse services, athletic eligibility, accessing student’s grades, driver’s education and graduation requirements and electives. For the remainder of the time, you will be able to walk around the Rich Herrin Gym to talk with teachers in each department and also check out the clubs and sports that BCHS has to offer. Also, our Freshmen Mentors will be in the commons and will be providing tours of the school.
In light of recent violence in several schools across the country, please see the attached letter from Superintendent Dr. Aaron Mattox regarding Benton High School Safety.
